South Bay Alliance Association, Inc. is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization building a coalition of the LGBT community and our allies for social networking, business promotion, and political awareness in South San Diego County.

SBA began in the Fall of 2006 with a small group of long time LGBT South Bay residents at the instigation of Mitch Doty-Cabrera. The intitial executive committee included Dae Elliott and John Acosta as Co-Chairs, Marci Bair as Secretary, and Craig Knudson as Treasurer.

The 2008-2009 executive committee was chaired by Dae Elliott with Marci Bair as Vice-Chair, Craig Knudson as Treasurer, and Lori Grady as Secretary. During this time, South Bay Pride was moved to the Memorial Park location, expanded to a music fest while South Bay Alliance also expanded its internet support of the community by developing their "Friends of the Community" listing, Health and Drug information websites. In the spring of 2009, SBA moved from a non-profit association to a 501(3)(c) non-profit corporate status. The 2010-2011 executive committee was chaired by Marci Bair with Ben Orgovan as Vice-Chair, Craig Knudson as Treasurer, and Rhonda Mack as Secretary.

Since its inception, this small group has grown exponentially. Our South Bay Pride original 2006 event was attended by about 200 while our 2011 South Bay Pride Art and Music Fest was attended by an estimated 1,400 supporters. After a hiatus in 2012, we are back at it with a larger venue and an expanded line up of entertainment. This year's South Bay Pride will be at Bayfront Park, Chula Vista on Saturday, September 14, 2013 between 12:00 and 6:00 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Vendor/exhibitor tables are also available. Support this great event while enjoying an outing with friends and allies.

There are monthly planning meetings for South Bay Pride held on second Thursday of every month starting at 6 p.m. at the Panera Bread West in the Chula Vista Mall, 555 Broadway, Chula Vista. Come early and grab a bite to eat! Join us! South Bay Alliance is an all volunteer organization. Without you, we would not have been able to do the amazing things we have.
