According to the Guttmacher Institute, 2007 "One in two Americans will contract at least one sexually transmitted infection in their lifetime." The U.S. has the highest rate of sexually transmitted infections of any industrialized country. It is to our advantage that we educate ourselves about the causes, symptoms, modes of transmission, and treatments.
Below is a partial listing of service sites San Diego. Because services and hours of operation may vary, it’s a good idea to call to confirm before going.
North Park Family Health Center

Offers comprehensive primary care including HIV, STD and Hepatitis services. There is a sliding scale fee, based upon income. For those who are eligible, there are also programs that may help to cover the cost of Healthcare services. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Services available in English and Spanish.

A small fee covers testing and required treatment, Hepatitis B vaccinations, Monitored hormone therapy and related lab work, and referrals to other support services. A $15.00 fee covers testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), Hepatitis vaccinations for at-risk clients, lab work, in-stock medications and follow-up visits within 30 days of exam. The fee may be waived if you are unable to pay. Confidential HIV testing available with STD examination - you use your name but your identity is protected by law. No appointment necessary.
